Looks like purely a name recognition exercise, even for the Liberal voters. Although, I was surprised that Iggy wasn't higher considering the free media splash he has had.

It is definitely mostly name recognition, but there has been a lot of media attention on the race, so the fact that Dryden is at the top must say something about his ability to bring together a coalition to win the next election.

This poll isn't definitive, nor should it be the standard bearer for the race - but there is definitely some value in it.

I agree with dave. It's simply an indication of how people might vote, but it's interesting to consider. The writ could be dropped in February if the budget is defeated and the new leader will only have been leader for two months. Who can beat Harper in that scenario, probably only Rae, Dryden or Dion. If you're picking for a maybe and more likely next time then you can add Kennedy, Igs and possibly Bennet. But Igs and Bennet are older already. Brison can wait even longer, he's young. Name recognition may be more important than a lot of things for next Feb.
